Herbal Medicine (Phytotherapy)
Herbal medicine is the use of tinctures, tablets, teas and creams to treat a wide range of health problems, both chronic and acute. Patients have an hour-long first consultation to discuss their current and past health, after which a herbal medicine formula will be tailored to fit their health profile. Follow-up consultations then follow at two week intervals so that progress can be assessed.
When used properly, herbs are very safe and effective and can be used alongside prescribed medicines. Conditions suitable for herbal treatment include asthma, eczema, menstrual problems, arthritis, depression/anxiety, digestive problems, insomnia, but this is not an exhaustive list. Because of the gentle supportive nature of herbal treatment it is safe both for small children and the elderly.
